I drive by these great hands a couple times a week. Each hand is six feet wide and 12 feet high. The artist. Donna Billick of Davis California, created the sculpture using terazzo mosaic tiles. I love that I live in a small college town that would commission an artist to create big giant mosaic hands.

This is cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to remember what video game it is reminding me of. All I can remember is at some point in one level, a big hand drops down from out of nowhere and tries to grab you.......and if it does, I think you have to start again.
I'll have to ask Hubby. I'm sure he knows what game I am thinking of.
This is so cool! And thanks for introducing me to a new-to-me mosaic artist. Off to look up more of her work.
ReplyDeleteTo me, the sculpture looks as though it is poised to squish some super- scary, massive, post-apocalyptic mega-mosquito.
ReplyDeleteI love the up-close details as well as the large scale of this sculpture.
